Hey!

I am

Amber Broers

Mijn naam is Amber Broers.

One of my favourite things to do is discovering new places. I've backpacked through Australia for a year back in 2019 and interrailed around Europe for 6 weeks in 2022. Both of these trips have given me a chance to surround myself with new perspectives and cultures.

Who am I?

Always creative
Ever since I've been young, whenever I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I said that I wanted to help people. This goal always stayed the same and I've now added to it that I want to do this using my creativity. For me creativity facilitates self expression, communication and community. These are all incredibly valuable factors for the social change I hope to achieve.

Determinded
When I started trying to figure out what I wanted to study, I found out quite fast that what I wanted didn't exist. Things I liked were either too much in the creative sector, or too much in the social sector, while I was looking for a combination that just wasn't there. I decided to take a gap year, because I knew what I wanted but it just wasn't there yet. And if I couldn't do that, I didn't want to start college yet.

After only one month in Australia, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht announced that they would be starting a new course, Design for Change and Innovation. I read the description once and knew this was what I wanted to do.
