October 2023 - November 2023

In the JongerenGarage, a transdisciplinary team of young people, under the inspiring guidance of Garage2020, designs utopian youth care for the future. I worked on this project for a year.

Our mission was to create 'Empowerment and ownership for children and young people on their health journey and create transparency for the organization'. This question was posed to us by Enver and Cardea, two youth care organizations. To achieve this goal, we engaged in discussions with young people and youth care workers, conducted research, and listened to various perspectives to devise an innovative solution to improve feedback within youth care.

The result of our research was the creation of the BabbelStenen. With these, young people and caregivers can communicate with each other in a playful manner. By rolling the dice and answering questions from various categories alternately, valuable conversations were initiated. The BabbelStenen were introduced and tested at Enver and Cardea, with positive feedback leading to new discussions about the needs of both parties.

Further development

In collaboration with a group from the first JongerenGarage, we are working on further development of the BabbelStenen. By creating a simple and repeatable game, we aim to ensure that young people feel heard in youth care. The development of this project is ongoing, with the goal of enhancing the youth care experience.
